Everything You Need To Know

  • The wrong people are:
    • People with no knowledge or experience
    • Finfluencers
    • Journalists/Media types
  • The right people are:
    • Qualified people
    • Experienced people
  • In truth, right/wrong is too binary
    • Really there’s likely to be some good in most messages, but it may be buried deep.
    • Instead of filtering the people, we should learn instead to filter the message.

Everything You Need To Do

  • Develop filters
    • Source Credibility: Expertise, Track Record, Bias and Intent
    • Contextual Fit: Does the advice pertain to a situation similar to your own?
    • Bias and Intent: Does the source have any potential biases or conflicts of interest that could affect the advice? Is the advice timely and applicable to your current stage or situation? Does the advice consider cultural, geographical, or environmental factors that are relevant to you?
    • Personal Relevance: Values and Beliefs, Goals and Objectives, Capabilities and Resources
    • Feasibility and Practicality: Is the advice actionable and practical given your current situation? Risk and Reward, Scalability
    • Feedback and Outcomes: Is there evidence or testimonials showing that the advice has been successful for others in similar situations? Can the advice be modified to better suit your needs if necessary?
  • Always fact-check
    • Check credentials
    • Cross-reference information – is it corroborated by other reliable sources?
    • Evaluate the evidence for what’s being spoken about
    • Check for bias and objectivity
    • Use trusted platforms to fact-check
    • Be sceptical of sensationalism
    • Seek professional advice
  • Trust your gut feeling, as long as it is informed. Our gut feelings can be good for avoiding obvious pitfalls, but scams are becoming more elaborate and with a greater proliferation of information, it can be hard to cut through the noise.

We need to accept responsibility for our own decisions, unless we’re engaging with a financial adviser because then they are taking responsibility – that’s the big benefit!

High Ticket Coaching Industry Collapse: How to Survive

High ticket coaching has been a booming industry, but recently, it has faced significant challenges and a decline in trust. In this blog, we’ll explore practical strategies to not only survive but thrive amidst these challenges. In this video, we’ll be breaking down how to survive the collapse of the high ticket coaching industry.

Before diving in, I want to share that I called this collapse of the high ticket coaching industry back in 2017 when I had a column at Inc. Below you can find the screenshot:

I don’t say this to brag, I say this because if you were paying attention you could have seen it coming even back then. Now, back then I didn’t think people would be having public criminal scandals or full-on social media takedowns due to poor business practices, but the signs were there that something was going to give at some point.

Identifying the Core Issues

The high ticket coaching industry has seen an influx of skepticism and dissatisfaction among consumers. The root causes range from lack of substantial content in coaching programs to public scandals involving high-profile coaches. These issues highlight the necessity for a shift towards more structured and genuine coaching practices that actually walk clients through some sort of process that gets them their desired result.

People are tired of buying things with no structure to follow and then being made to feel like an idiot when they “just don’t get it.” Any coach who tells you this is abdicating responsibility and blaming you.

Restructuring for Resilience

To navigate the collapse, it’s essential to restructure your high ticket coaching business with a focus on transparency and value. Implementing clear, step-by-step processes within coaching programs can vastly improve client satisfaction and outcomes. Moreover, focusing on skill-building rather than just motivational content ensures that clients receive practical value for their investments.

We’ve always done this in our coaching programs and it’s why we get so many referrals. Because people get results quickly and then send their colleagues over.

Enhancing Client Experience

Improving the client experience is crucial. This can be achieved by maintaining regular, quality interactions with clients and continuously refining coaching programs based on feedback. A client-centric approach not only enhances satisfaction but also encourages referrals, reducing dependency on aggressive marketing strategies.

For example, we just completed our second round of our Effortless Sales Engine program where we help our clients automate their marketing and sales activity. Now we have enough data to make the program better and restructure it based on feedback.

In doing so, we ended up combining all our programs into one offer and shifting the structure of how we offer things. Within a few days of doing this, we enrolled several people into the new program. Why? Because we adjusted the offer based on feedback and that made it easier to sell.

What if the Lifetime Allowance Comes Back?

This video is coming out in May 2024. As of 6th April 2024, just a few weeks ago, the Lifetime Allowance has been abolished. For the year prior to that, it still existed, but any tax charge arising as a result of crystallising pension benefits over the lifetime allowance was set to zero. This is because it took time to get legislation passed to abolish the LTA, so this was a stop-gap to make sure people weren’t penalised. But it might have implications for a possible reintroduction.

It’s fair to say that reintroducing the LTA isn’t going to be an easy task for an incoming Labour government. It certainly won’t be a case of cutting and pasting the old legislation. There would need to some careful thought given to the implications of its reintroduction. As the election approaches, I think that the Labour Party will need to make their thinking quite clear in order to forestall action by pension scheme members which might undermine any tax take from a future reintroduction of the LTA. Let’s watch carefully for that information – I’ll be sure to do a video on it as and when it appears.
