2021 Year in Review

Let’s recap 2021 – not as crazy as 2020, but still with enough surprises in this last year’s journey that it’s worth mentioning. So let’s look back at 2021 and review what worked, what didn’t, and what I predict will be big in 2022! Last year, my business doubled in revenue from the previous year, and 2022 will be a seven-figure year for MMYH.

Fulfilling Your Company’s Vision

I had a vision for this business and how I wanted to create my company, and by March of 2021, the world started opening up again. With so much demand for people wanting to start their own businesses, this has provided and put my company in a great position – and the most crucial part – we were ready for success! So lesson number one is always following your intuition because my intuition has been guiding timelines and direction of my business.

Trust the Process

Since starting my company, I’ve had to learn how to trust that process. I’m big on processes and procedures to keep your team working effectively, and trusting the process is what brought us to 2021 and will take us into 2022. Although this process hasn’t been easy, and there have been significant challenges, we stay focused on our mission of 1000 profiteers by 2026 because our mission keeps us going.

Moving Into Paid Ads

Entrepreneurs are hesitant to spend money on ads. So I decided to use paid ads, and I’m glad we made that decision. We’ve been so successful with ads that our customers were paying for our ads, which made good ROI sense.

We used ads to create a successful launch, and we’ve had over 500 customers already work through the program. Our clients started getting results within a week of finishing the program, and that’s super exciting! Many participants in our program also signed up for Persuade to Profit, a 90-day sales training program.

With the Persuade to Profit Program, we’ve had clients generate six figures in sales within three months, increase their close rates by 30%, and had clients sell out six group coaching cohorts in a year.

Investing in Big Events in 2022

This was so fucking exciting for 2021 when we went back to in-person events! I went to Grant Cardon’s sales execution workshop, and I can tell you, nobody does customer service like these people.

We learned an important lesson about events. We’ve started investing in much higher-level events that cost a fuck ton more money. However, the level and the caliber of people are significantly different. It’s people who will push you to another level and a higher standard.

The Importance of Team Development

This year I realized how important people and team development are to a business. I became aware of this when I gave the team what they needed, and they executed the plan independently. Because of this, the whole team’s level of confidence skyrockets. I’ve seen them grow so much in only a few short weeks – the amount of team growth is simply mind-blowing.

Building a Sustainable Business in 2022

When I think of my business, I want a sustainable company that can run without me, if need be. Now, remember, stepping away from your company takes time, and you have to trust that process. Likewise, building a team to create a sustainable business is not overnight. Still, I will say that getting help in determining how to develop the team and having a high level of support is crucial to making the process as smooth as possible.

If you’ve built a business from the ground up by yourself, and you have the right team that’s supporting you, you know exactly what I’m talking about. That moment when it hits you that you’re all on the same page and you’re working toward the company goal or vision together

There is trust with a solid team, and you each have each other’s back. When you first start building your team, you realize that you’re not running your company by yourself anymore, and that’s an adjustment. So for 2022, it’s definitely a year for more internal people development, which I need to work on for my business.

Stepping Into Myself

I feel like I’m becoming more into who I am and who I’ve always been, but I’ve been too afraid to go through this process because the unknown is scary. So people have been commenting on my outfits on Instagram for probably the first time in my career. So Y’all shout out to Colleen Coughlin over the full editor who taught me how to dress, which is a win for 2021.

Coming into who I am and realizing that I’m in a leadership position, not just self-employed. I’m leading communities, clients, and my team, which is my role moving forward. Luckily, I have the right mentorship and help to accomplish my career goals.

I don’t waste time trying to figure shit out on my own. Is there somebody who can help me figure this out? Great, here’s the credit card because I want to roll and move! I’m not too proud to admit that I don’t know what I don’t know.

Work-Life Balance

I’ve noticed there are two different camps regarding work-life balance. The camp doesn’t believe you can achieve balance – which is absolutely true. You can’t achieve balance naturally – you have to make your own balance.

Both work and play exist in the same time and space. The problem is that you go through seasons in a business where it’s busier and slower, depending on your vertical. I work so upfront, and I stay focused on my long-term vision and goals. I mean, there’s no done in this sentence.

I’m totally okay with having a year where I focused on sales, developing my team, and partnering with people. This next year, we will take what we did in 2021 and keep it going!

Creating Boundaries to Keep the Bullshit Out of Your Life

Do you have lots of bullshit in your life? Think about who you let into your personal and professional circles. Do they bring your drama or support?

If you have negative people in your life, you need to cut them out because they are the roadblock for you becoming successful. You need to cut out the bullshit in your life because negative people, habits, and influences prevent you from achieving who you are meant to become.

The truth is, if your personal life is a fucking mess, your business is probably going to be a mess.

If you’re around people who are not supportive, life will be complicated and challenging. If you are around people who don’t respect you, it will be tough to be successful and build the business and go where you want to go.

If you don’t figure out what your standards are financial, in your relationships, in your life, and your business, you’re going to have drama and chaos in life and business.

Why You Need Boundaries

Boundaries are a big issue, and we are helping our clients create boundaries daily. But, the fact is, you need to get better at putting up boundaries to make more money.

I had a period where I had a group of friends that, quite frankly, were dramatic, and there was too much fuckery going on.

I realized this drama and the people I had in my circle were dragging me down and keeping me from realizing my vision, dreams, wealth, and the way I wanted to live.

So the minute I see fuckery in my personal life, I am dropping your ass like a bad habit.

Boundaries Create Wealth

I’ve noticed that many wealthy people are very strict about creating boundaries. They’re cautious about the kind of people they have around them to keep their social environment in good harmony. They understand that things will be rough if their environment is off and they don’t have the right people around them, the right partnerships, and the team.

It’s going to be like moving through molasses. If you can even do that, it’s going to be like having cement tied to your feet.

One of the elements that we need to get better at as humans are figuring out our standards. This time of year where those of you who have this issue in your life, you’re going to get all your fucking buttons pushed at this time of year.

If you’re reading this, you should know that there are certain areas where I want you to decide on your new standards. First, figure out your financial standards. How much money am I making? How much is my business bringing in every month?

Here’s a standard that I have in my business.

I pay myself, and I pay myself a good salary. That’s a standard that needs to happen. Another standard is I pay my fucking bills on time. If I commit to something, it’s getting paid on time, and I’ve never missed one bill.

Setting Standards Within Your Power

The truth is you have a lot more power than you think you do, but you have to set the standard. Another standard I have is my pricing. People who work for me here are all chosen based on my standards.

What are the standards in your financial life? What are the standards in your business? Where are the standards for the people in your life? What are the standards for your relationships? So many people could be so much further ahead in life and business if they had standards.

Think about what standards you want to create as you go into the New Year. Spend some time thinking and writing down your ideas, boundaries, and standards that you want to implement next year to get rid of the nonsense in your life so you can move on to be your own success.

Having standards for yourself is loving and respectful to your being, so make sure you have the boundaries and standards in place for your best year ever!

My Six-Figure Month

Today, I want to speak from my heart and give back and let you in on how we created six figures in sales revenue in just 90 short days! First, I want to be clear that these figures are based on sales contracts.

These sales contracted over a hundred thousand dollars, but this didn’t happen overnight. So I want to give you not only the basics but dive deeper into the details of how I made six figures in 30 days because I’m noticing in online spaces that people are not going deep enough to get results.

Start with High Ticket Sales and Scalable Offers

I’m all about high ticket sales and scalable offers, right? So it’s not a secret that I spent two and a half years building out back systems, infrastructure and developing my team. I did this to spend 80 to 90% of my time generating revenue for my business.

And even though conversion rates are not what they used to be with online ads and ads have gotten more expensive, sales stay the same.

The hard part to building your business to scale is about learning all the bullshit that stands in the way of us making money. I have realized that your mindset and spiritual space make a big difference in being average and being wildly successful in business.

I’ve worked hard behind the scenes with myself and my team. Still, I’ve been shying away from talking about it publicly because, quite frankly, I did not want to because this is an internal fear. There are many people out here talking about mindset, manifesting, and spirituality. However, people are still not getting results because they don’t have strategy and sales skills.

In Persuade to Profit, I teach you how to build your business, scale, and manifest with a mindset and hard work. It would be a disservice if I did not talk about mindset and what we have internally.

Build a Vision for Your Business

Vision is critical because you need to know what you want out of your life to get there successfully. Everybody says they want money, success, and wealth, but what does that mean?

Even though many people say they want money, success, and wealth, they don’t have a target or goal they are shooting towards. So you need to have clarity because you need an end goal in mind. Once you understand what you want, create your vision around your goals. Then, you have a finish line to cross. This is extremely important, particularly when times get tough; you want to hold onto that vision to get you through those rough spots in your business.

Research and Take Action in Your Company

Many people spend too much time researching rather than deciding, committing, and executing. Not me. I move real fast, and so does my team.

Money likes decisiveness.

You have to commit to making money to accomplish your goals. This decision happens with your whole body. Next, you have to commit to the actions that will get you there. Period. Point blank.

Hire a Business Coach or Mentor to Shortcut to Your Success

Although it took me ten years to figure out cash flow, profits, payroll. If you’re committed to your business, you will be investing money multiple times – and that is a part of the game. So I invest in training for myself and my team and hire somebody to help me figure it out to get there faster.

Trade Time for Money

When it comes time to make investments, business owners get scared because they don’t know how to generate passive income. But, when you know how to sell, you know that there are options to generate revenue.

So, in that sense, you don’t have to be afraid of letting go of money because if you can sell, that money will come back to you.

The Importance of Having Boundaries in Business

The next item I want to point out is boundaries. We have firm boundaries in the business. We do not play with our clients because our boundaries are strong. I have found that for women, in particular, this subject tends to be a little hard for us because we’ve been taught to cater to everybody else and put ourselves last. We’ve been taught that if we put ourselves first, we’re selfish, and we’ve been taught that our value is in being, not being respected.

And then if we try to get respect, we’re called a bitch. Right? There’s a little bit more we have to deal with as women business owners.

Also, if you want to be successful, you can’t live your life for other people. So if we end up playing small, then we can’t live up to our potential and purpose because we’re afraid of what other people will think of us. How selfish is that? Honestly, when you think about it, how selfish is that?

Do Your Shadow Work

Shadow work is work that you do internally to correct negative and false mindsets to free yourself to become the successful business person you were meant to be. I’ve noticed that in working on myself to improve my business, shadow work translates to every area of your life.

I’ve done the internal work required to make six figures in a month. And I’ll continue making six figures in a month, and I’m going to keep expanding. I’m going to keep growing, and I’m going to keep taking it to a new level because that’s how I like to live and what I want for you.

Therefore, I highly recommend therapies, spiritual work, whatever process floats your boat to make you a better person – I highly recommend doing that internal work.

And I’ve interviewed a lot of people on this podcast. Many of which are very wealthy. I haven’t met a single one of them who doesn’t have some sort of spiritual practice, therapist, or mentor. Almost all of them have had a personal coach or professional to move them through emotional roadblocks.

Know that when you do the work, this shit’s hard because it takes courage to be vulnerable, admits your shortcomings, and work on them to make yourself a better person. It takes courage to stand for what you want and stand for your clients. Finally, it takes courage to do the work required to lead people.

You will come up against challenges and have moments where you’re like, ‘oh my God, what the fuck did I get myself into?’ You will come up against moments that make you uncomfortable.

We’ve doubled our revenue in 90 days. In two weeks we made more revenue than we did in the entire last quarter. I’ve also completed goals on rapid timelines. We’ve also had clients accomplish business goals in 90 days and achieve fast results.

Because when you’re focused on building a long-term, sustainable business, you need to be ready for the long game. A successful business isn’t built overnight. So to continue to be successful, you have to keep feeding and commit to your success.

Building Systems for the Long Game

I have systems for support, and I’ve invested in my systems to work effectively and efficiently. Remember, invest in your people, develop them, talk to them, find out what’s going on, find out what they want.

Building systems incorporate developing the team that works for you. And that is how you can build something that’s more sustainable. And the last part, I think the previous feature here, and this is coming because I’ve been privy to situations and stories, is

Business is a spiritual, mindset, and human experience game that is part of building a sustainable company, especially if you want to create a sustainable business with ethics and integrity.
